RaC & Ruin - House Rules & Goblins
PLAY THE MONSTERS
Fantasy adventurers have spent decades kicking down doors, stealing treasure and killing everything described as a monster.
RaC & Ruin – House Rules & Goblins lets you play the other side.
This is the foundational supplement for RaC & Ruin, a collection of house rules and character options for old-school fantasy roleplaying games. It combines familiar OSR principles with additional choices and revisions intended to make old-school play more flexible and accessible to modern players.
It also provides rules for playing goblins as a complete race-as-class character option.
RACE AS CLASS
In RaC & Ruin, different fantasy peoples are treated as genuinely different creatures.
A goblin is not simply a smaller human with a few adjusted statistics. Its abilities, limitations and development are defined by its nature as a goblin, with its species and class combined into a single character progression.
The result is closer to the Racial Character Classes of Palladium than the increasingly interchangeable fantasy ancestries found in many modern games.
