Set in Portugal during the late 1970s, The Sisters of the Seven Sins centres upon a convent with a dark history of demonic possession, black magic and Devil worship.

The convent is now occupied by a recently founded religious congregation composed of disgraced women seeking to atone for their past: the Reprobate Sisters of the Seven Sins.

They are not quite what they seem.

Choose Your Part in the Story

Players may take the roles of:

• Members of the unusual sisterhood.

• Vatican authorities investigating reports of demoniacal manifestations.

• Reporters exploring the story behind the convent and its inhabitants.

• Criminals attempting to restore a sinister painting to the place where it once belonged.

These different starting points allow the same setting to be approached from inside the convent, through an official investigation, as a journalistic story or as part of a criminal scheme.

Giallo or Supernatural Horror

The Sisters of the Seven Sins is the third title in the Postmortem Giallo series, inspired by Italian thrillers and exploitation cinema.

The supernatural elements can be used directly or kept less conspicuous, allowing the material to be played either as occult horror or closer to a traditional giallo thriller.

The scenario is not tied to the preceding Orpheum Lofts or The Memorial, so it can be played independently.

An Adventure Kit, Not a Fixed Plot

The Postmortem Giallo books are collections of characters and circumstances rather than strictly linear adventures.

The Sisters of the Seven Sins provides a setting and cast from which different stories can develop according to:

• The player characters selected.

• The purpose of their visit.

• The secrets they investigate.

• Whether the supernatural is real, suspected or concealed.

• The choices made once events are set in motion.

This open structure allows the Games Master to shape the material around the group rather than forcing every session through a predetermined series of scenes.

Placeholder statistics are provided for Actual Fucking Monsters, but the setting, characters and circumstances can be adapted to other contemporary horror games.
