Bloodsucker: The Angst - XPRESS EDITION (PRINT)
ETERNAL LIFE IS WASTED ON THE YOUNG
The night belongs to the beautiful, the damned and the insufferably pretentious.
You were once an ordinary goth, punk, emo, metalhead, spooky kid or misunderstood teenage poet. Then some mysterious force transformed you into an immortal creature of the night.
At last, your parents will have to take you seriously.
Bloodsucker: The Angst – XPRESS Edition is a complete comedy roleplaying game of vampires, subcultures, melodrama and monumental self-importance. Enter a shadowy world of dingy nightclubs, warehouse parties, clove cigarettes, terrible poetry and elaborate social hierarchies in which everyone is immortal—but nobody is mature.
Create your own Bloodsucker, choose your Clique and develop strange supernatural Powers. Struggle for status among the undead while uncovering the terrible secrets of the night: who is sleeping with whom, who has betrayed the scene by listening to popular music, and whether the Lady of the Pretentious Art Whores really buys her clothes from Primark.
Ancient conspiracies may exist, but they are considerably less important than getting your usual table at the club.
Inside you’ll find:
-
Complete rules for creating and playing your own Bloodsucker.
-
A fast, accessible d6 dice-pool system.
-
Cliques representing the many tribes of gothic and alternative culture.
-
Supernatural Powers, advantages, disadvantages and assorted affectations.
-
Rules for social climbing, combat and other forms of tiresome drama.
-
The hidden history and international society of the Bloodsuckers.
-
Antagonists, campaign advice and ideas for suitably overwrought adventures.
-
More black clothing, pancake make-up and scented candles than any sensible person requires.
This is affectionate but vicious satire, written by people who know the culture from the inside. It skewers gothic posturing, vampire fandom and the peculiar tendency of roleplaying games to give extremely silly ideas extremely serious names.
Play it as a one-off comedy, run a full campaign of supernatural social warfare, or combine it with Chav: The Knifing and Wizkid: The Cheapening to explore the broader—and no less ridiculous—Shadow World.
You have been granted immortality.
Try not to spend all of it complaining about the DJ.

PLEASE NOTE
This is deliberately irreverent adult satire from 2010, aimed at vampire fiction, gothic subculture and roleplaying games themselves. It contains vulgarity, stereotypes, sexual references and jokes forged in a less restrained age.
It may cause offence, dramatic sighing or the application of excessive eyeliner.
