’45: Psychobilly Retropocalypse — Print Edition

Post-atomic America, hot rods, mutation and B-movie adventure.

’45: Psychobilly Retropocalypse is a gonzo post-apocalyptic roleplaying game inspired by science-fiction and B-movie imagery from the 1930s, ’40s and ’50s.

Its setting combines:

  • A ruined, post-atomic America.

  • Warring city-states.

  • Post-apocalyptic wilderness.

  • Hotrod battles on the open road.

  • Rock-and-roll and psychobilly styling.

  • Mutants and other products of the altered world.

The Xpress System

’45 uses the D6 dice-pool-based Xpress System.

A character’s abilities and learned skills determine their chances of completing tasks, while Focus allows skills to be narrowed into more specialised areas. The game also includes self-created merits and flaws.

This version of Xpress adds:

  • Heroics, providing opportunities for over-the-top pulp action.

  • Rules supporting tougher, more durable characters.

  • Streamlined treatment of cannon-fodder enemies.

  • Rules material that can be adapted for other Xpress games.

This is a complete core roleplaying game for post-apocalyptic road adventures with a deliberately exaggerated B-movie tone.

This listing is for the physical print edition of ’45: Psychobilly Retropocalypse. The book is a 100-page, black-and-white A4 perfect-bound paperback. Dice and other gaming materials are not included.
